Funchal hosts Senior Dance Festival to promote active aging

The 2026 Senior Dance Festival took place at the Jardim Municipal Auditorium in Funchal, bringing together various groups and institutions from the Autonomous Region of Madeira. Organized by the Associação Exemplos Sábios through the Dança Sénior Madeira project, the event aims to promote active aging and community integration through movement.

The festival included participation from a representative of the Brazilian Association of Senior Dance, facilitating an international exchange of experiences. The initiative is supported by the Funchal City Council, a partnership that has spanned all municipal parishes for four consecutive years.
