Fundació Caixa Vinaròs commemorates Conxita Badia and Carles Santos

The Fundació Caixa Vinaròs and the Associació Ilercavonia organized an event at L’Auditori Carles Santos to honor the musical legacies of Conxita Badia and Carles Santos. The event was part of the commemorations marking the 50th anniversary of the death of soprano Conxita Badia.

The program included a roundtable discussion featuring cultural manager Josep Lluís Soler, musicologist Pepe Reche, and Mireia Domènech, a curator for the Conxita Badia Year. Participants highlighted how both Badia and Santos utilized classical traditions to advance toward contemporary and avant-garde styles.

The event concluded with a recital titled ‘Entre la veu i el piano: dos universos musicals’, featuring performances by pianist Alicia Daufí and soprano Maria Bañeras. The initiative aims to promote the global recognition of Badia, a prominent 20th-century soprano known for her work in lied and Catalan, Spanish, and South American music.
