Fundación Castro-Limón launches Estrellas de Esperanza 2026 campaign
The Fundación Castro-Limón has launched its “Estrellas de Esperanza 2026” campaign to raise funds for pediatric cancer treatments. The current initiative focuses on providing comprehensive medical care for Aldo, an eight-year-old boy diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Founding counselor Claudia Castro Munguía stated the campaign aims to collect 27,000 “stars,” each valued at 100 pesos, to ensure the child receives specialized medical attention. While the foundation provides treatments free of charge to patients, the cost per child ranges between 2.5 and 2.7 million pesos, excluding potential complications or relapses.
The foundation reports a survival rate of nearly 25%, which is higher than the national average. This success is attributed to timely access to medications and treatments made possible by donations from citizens, companies, and organizations.
