Fundación GEDyT holds gala to expand colon cancer detection

Fundación GEDyT held its sixth annual solidarity gala to raise funds for colon cancer detection and prevention campaigns. The organization aims to expand these efforts across Argentina, focusing on a pathology that primarily affects individuals over 45, though morbidity is increasingly being observed in younger populations.

The event included various public figures and representatives from the Ministry of Health of CABA, the Public Health Subsecretariat of the Province of Buenos Aires, and officials from the Hospital de Clínicas (UBA). Representatives from the embassies of the United States and Italy were also in attendance.

Dr. Luis Caro, president of the social organization, emphasized that colorectal cancer is largely preventable through early detection and the use of available medical tools and professional expertise. Funds raised from previous events have already been utilized for medical studies, training, and territorial prevention efforts.
