Fundación Inade launches ERM2026 to boost Galician business risk management

Fundación Inade has launched the ERM2026 initiative to improve risk management practices among companies in Galicia. The program aims to disseminate findings from a study conducted by the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC), which highlights a significant gap in formal risk protocols.

According to the USC research, only 13.2% of Galician companies have a formal risk management policy in place, and only 16.8% employ a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) or a dedicated risk manager. This lack of structure is a critical concern, as a 2020 study by the same university identified insufficient risk management as the seventh leading cause of business mortality in the region.

The ERM2026 initiative will run until mid-December, utilizing visual presentations of the research results to engage public administrations, business associations, and large corporations. The goal is to foster a stronger culture of risk governance and professionalization across the Galician business landscape.
