Fundación Integrar suspends services due to judicial embargo
Fundación Integrar, a non-profit organization that has provided care for people with disabilities for 23 years, has temporarily suspended its services in the municipalities of Jenesano, Ciénega, and Santa Sofía.
The suspension, which began on Monday, September 14, follows a judicial ruling resulting from a labor lawsuit filed by a former employee. According to the foundation's director, Yina Pinzón, the organization is facing an embargo of approximately 200 million pesos, which has led to the freezing of its bank accounts.
The foundation serves 163 individuals, including children, youth, and adults, primarily from low-income families. The service interruption affects essential programs such as therapies, nutrition, transportation, and alternative education. Pinzón stated that current income from donations and agreements is insufficient to cover both the judicial obligation and operational costs. The foundation is seeking support from municipal administrations, private companies, and social organizations to resolve the situation and resume services.
