Fundación Jiménez Díaz supports Peru's first robotic breast surgeries

The Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital has collaborated with Peru's Clínica Ricardo Palma to perform the first robotic breast surgeries in Peru. This milestone makes Peru the second Latin American country, following Brazil, to implement these highly precise, minimally invasive procedures.

The collaboration involved a joint effort between a team from Clínica Ricardo Palma, led by Dr. Mauricio León Rivera, head of the Mastology Unit, and Dr. María Luisa Sánchez de Molina, coordinator of the Breast Section at Fundación Jiménez Díaz. Dr. Sánchez de Molina provided specialized expertise and participated in the initial interventions.

Fundación Jiménez Díaz has established a significant track record in robotic surgery, being the first hospital in Madrid to operate three surgical platforms, including the advanced Da Vinci 5 model. This partnership aims to strengthen the exchange of specialized medical knowledge in robotic breast surgery.
