Fundación Mapfre offers up to €30,000 grants for health and social‑protection research

The Fundación Mapfre has opened applications for the Ignácio H. de Larramendi Research Aid, an international programme that provides funding of up to €30,000 per project for studies in health promotion and up to €15,000 for research on insurance and social‑security topics. Eligible participants include individual researchers or teams linked to universities, hospitals, companies or research centres, and proposals may be submitted in Portuguese, Spanish or English.

The health‑promotion track covers obesity prevention, physical activity, emotional health, emergency‑maneuver education, health management and longevity. The insurance‑and‑pension track addresses emerging risks, new technologies for the insurance market, pension savings, retirement and the senior economy. The deadline is 09:00 Brasília time on 22 October 2026. A Brazilian study on micro‑insurance in Latin America, led by researcher Claudia D’Ipolitto de Oliveira Sciré, was highlighted, and Fundación Mapfre’s Brazil representative Fátima Lima said the support aims to generate solutions that improve quality of life and expand social protection.
