Fundación Mutua de Propietarios launches accessibility initiatives
The Fundación Mutua de Propietarios has launched several initiatives to promote architectural accessibility and raise awareness regarding mobility barriers. In collaboration with UIC Barcelona, the foundation has signed an agreement to integrate accessibility as a core value in architecture and urbanism. This partnership, led by professor Enrique Rovira-Beleta, will support three undergraduate architecture theses that incorporate accessibility criteria into their projects.
Additionally, the foundation has introduced the #MideConZeroBarreras campaign to encourage younger generations to identify physical obstacles in their environments. As part of this effort, the foundation is promoting its ‘Zero Barreras’ app, a tool designed to measure the accessibility of common building elements such as elevators, stairs, and entrances. The campaign features Paralympic athlete Alberto Boniato, who will demonstrate how to use the application to evaluate building accessibility.
