Spain implements talent initiatives for industry and energy transition
Various initiatives in Spain are focusing on human capital to drive social and industrial transitions. In the Basque Country, the ‘Emakumea Industriara’ pilot program has been launched with a one million euro budget. The program provides scholarships of up to 1,000 euros per month and training to help women transition into operational roles within factories, aiming to address the current 21.7% female representation in the regional industrial sector.
Additionally, the Eraldatu Association and Rural Kutxa have launched the third edition of the Social Impact Final Degree Project at Deusto Business School. This program connects academic talent with the needs of companies and entrepreneurs to manage social and environmental impacts. This year, the initiative includes 26 students and several specialized tutors.
In the context of the energy transition, Fundación Repsol is emphasizing the human element through projects like Motor Verde. Developed with Grupo Sylvestris, this initiative focuses on reforestation in Spain and Portugal. To date, the project has restored over 9,000 hectares and generated more than 3,400 jobs, combining environmental recovery with rural economic revitalization.
