Fundación Terra promotes student entrepreneurship in Honduras
Fundación Terra, in partnership with the international organization Teach A Man To Fish, is promoting entrepreneurship among students in Honduras through its ‘Programa Escuela Emprendedora’. The initiative currently involves 300 students from 20 public educational centers in Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula.
Students in grades four through nine participate in the program by creating and managing real school enterprises. This process includes identifying business opportunities, developing products or services, calculating costs, and organizing sales. The program culminates in an ‘Entrepreneurship Fair’ where students present and market their goods, which include various food items and prepared products.
Beyond local impact, the initiative has a broader regional presence, encompassing 85 school enterprises and 7,950 students across different countries. The program aims to build essential life skills such as financial education, leadership, teamwork, and decision-making.
