Fundación Valenciaport concludes NeXTrain. PortS project

The European NeXTrain. PortS project has concluded its three-year initiative aimed at modernizing training for port professionals to meet digital transformation and ecological transition challenges. The final meeting took place on September 24 in Brussels.

Led by the Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Settentrionale and involving the Fundación Valenciaport, the project was co-financed by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency through the Erasmus+ program. Fundación Valenciaport coordinated a global professional profile report based on data from the ports of Valencia, Rotterdam, Livorno, Venice, Piraeus, and Genoa.

The project resulted in a manual detailing 29 professional profiles across four organizational levels: management, middle management, technical/administrative staff, and dock operational personnel. To support these profiles, the consortium developed training programs and virtual learning scenarios using Extended Reality (XR) technologies.
