Fundação ArcelorMittal launches STEAM education network in Northeast Brazil

The Fundação ArcelorMittal has launched the Rede Nacional Liga STEAM in the Northeast region of Brazil. This initiative aims to connect educators to a national community focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education.

The program provides continuous training for teachers in both public and private sectors, utilizing a combination of in-person workshops and distance learning modules. The curriculum emphasizes active methodologies, such as project-based learning, design thinking, and maker culture, to help educators address local challenges and promote student critical thinking.

Launched in Salvador, Bahia, the initiative involves partnerships with organizations including Sistema FIEB, SESI, SENAI CIMATEC, Instituto Anísio Teixeira, and Tríade Educacional. The program leverages technological infrastructure, such as CIMATEC Park, to facilitate practical workshops and prototyping experiments.
