Fundhacre launches pelvic physiotherapy services

The Fundação Hospitalar Governador Flaviano Melo (Fundhacre) has commenced specialized pelvic physiotherapy services to treat pelvic floor dysfunctions in women. The service is designed to address conditions such as urinary incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, vaginismus, and complications following gynecological or urological surgeries.

Access to the program is restricted to patients referred through the institution's internal regulation process following consultations at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Outpatient Clinic. In its initial phase, the service is treating an inaugural group of eight patients.

The new specialized service expands Fundhacre's existing rehabilitation offerings, which previously focused on traumato-orthopedic, neurological, respiratory, and global postural re-education areas. These treatments are conducted within the structure of the Instituto Nacional de Traumatologia e Ortopedia (INTO) in Acre.
