Fundo Baobá awards scholarships to Black students for study abroad
Fundo Baobá, a social organization dedicated to promoting racial equity, has launched the Black STEM program to support Black students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The initiative has selected three students from Brazil to receive scholarships of R$ 42,000 each to cover living expenses while studying abroad.
The recipients are scheduled to depart in September. Caio Ramos will study Design at the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation in the United Arab Emirates. Quezia Fernanda will pursue Electrical Engineering at the University of Jaén in Spain, and João Vitor will study Computer Science at Northwestern University in the United States.
The program aims to overcome financial barriers to international education and provides additional support such as mentorship, psychological monitoring, and connections with Black leadership.
