FAC culinary workshops promote sustainable cooking and income generation

The Fundo de Apoio à Comunidade (FAC) is conducting culinary workshops in the Jardim Tarumã neighborhood to promote income generation and social inclusion. Held at the Instituto Social Ajudar e Cuidar (ISAC), these practical sessions focus on sustainable cooking techniques, such as using banana peels to make brigadeiro and preparing saltenhas.

By emphasizing the full reuse of ingredients, the initiative aims to teach environmental education, circular economy principles, and poverty eradication. The workshops are open to various community members, including youth aged 16 and older and families, providing them with skills to enter the job market or start small home-based businesses. FAC president Adir Diniz noted that gastronomy is increasingly attracting young people looking for professional opportunities.
