Fundraising campaign for Mehmet Oğuz Haskan reaches goal

A 22-month fundraising campaign for 3-year-old Mehmet Oğuz Haskan, who suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), has successfully reached its target. The governorate-approved initiative raised a total of 2,901,907 dollars to fund the medication required for his treatment.

Based in İzmir, the campaign received widespread support from across Turkey through various charity events, including concerts, kermesses, and donation boxes placed in local businesses. Significant contributions also came from the Seydişehir district in Konya, the hometown of the child's father, Gökhan Haskan. Local officials and community members in Seydişehir organized specific events to support the cause, marking a successful conclusion to the long-term solidarity effort.
