FuneCamp receives 'Women Approved 2026' recognition for gender equality

FuneCamp, a supramunicipal company providing public funeral services to Reus, Salou, Vila-seca, and Constantí, has received a special mention in the 'Women Approved 2026' ranking. The initiative, driven by the Instituto Más Mujeres, evaluates corporate commitment to gender equality and female empowerment in the workplace.

This recognition, presented at the MediaTIC building in Barcelona, marks a repeat achievement for the company, which also received the award in 2024. Montserrat Flores, the company's CEO and a local councillor, stated that incorporating female talent contributes to the modernization of the funeral sector.

The company has undergone a significant cultural shift. Prior to 2016, the sector was heavily masculinized, with FuneCamp employing only five women out of 28 staff members, none of whom were in direct funeral roles. Following the hiring of the first female funeral workers in late 2016, the company's workforce now includes 19 women, representing 46.34% of total personnel. Female talent now holds key operational and transversal positions, including roles in legal, finance, coordination, thanatopractice, and cemetery management.
