FUNGLODE to host Dominican film showcases in Miami and New York

FUNGLODE and the Santo Domingo Global Film Festival (FCGSD) are organizing two events in Miami and New York this September to showcase Dominican cinema and engage with industry professionals living in the United States.

The first event, the Dominican Film Showcase Florida, will take place on September 17 at the Tower Theater in Miami, featuring the film ‘De Tal Palo Tal Astilla’, directed by Frank Perozo.

On September 24, the activities will move to New York at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre. Leonel Fernández, president of FUNGLODE, will lead a discussion with Dominican actors, directors, producers, and screenwriters. The conversation will address the current state and future of the national film industry, the impact of the Law for the Promotion of Cinematographic Activity, and ways to better integrate Dominican talent residing abroad.
