Funglode to host global forum on AI and education in Dominican Republic

The Global Democracy and Development Foundation (Funglode) will hold its VI Global Casa de Campo Forum on November 10 at the Marina Riverside Center in La Romana, Dominican Republic. The event, titled “The Future of Education: Between Artificial Intelligence and New Pedagogical Trends,” aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities presented by technological transformations for new generations.

Key participants include Funglode President and former Dominican Republic President Leonel Fernández, as well as Dominican Minister of Education Luis Miguel De Camps. International experts scheduled to attend include Andreas Schleicher from the OECD, Jesús Schucry Giacoman from the OAS, and Javier González from the SUMMA research laboratory.

The forum will address topics such as personalized learning through AI, new methodologies, and the role of neuroscience in cognitive development. Discussions will also focus on strengthening critical thinking, creativity, and technological literacy, while exploring the ethical and social challenges of technology integration, specifically regarding equity and inclusion in Latin America and the Caribbean.
