Furious episode five intensifies investigation and personal conflict

The fifth episode of the Hulu crime thriller ‘Furious’, titled ‘Pick a Sticker’, intensifies the psychological conflict between FBI agent Alice Black and the serial killer Catherine. The plot escalates after Catherine kidnaps Hal, a lawyer for the Easton family, leading to his death at the home of Alden Drummings. This event causes significant turmoil within the FBI, as officials fear the death will draw unwanted attention to a sensitive cold case.

In addition to the central investigation, the episode explores Alice’s personal struggles with her abusive ex-partner, Marshall. To protect her position in the investigation after Marshall reported her for brandishing a weapon, Alice engages in a calculated attempt to compromise his sobriety. Lead actress and producer Emmy Rossum described this intense sequence as ‘whiskey waterboarding’, noting the emotional and physical complexity required to film the scene with the help of intimacy and fight coordinators.
