Furkan Torlak allegedly dismissed from Ministry of Justice
Ahmet Şık, an Istanbul deputy for the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP), has alleged that Furkan Torlak has been removed from his position at the Ministry of Justice. Torlak, the former Coordinator of the Dezinformasyonla Mücadele Merkezi (Disinformation Fight Center) under the Presidency's Communications Directorate, had been serving at the Ministry of Justice since February 2026.
Şık’s claims follow previous controversies involving Torlak, including allegations that his name appeared in informant statements related to a drug investigation involving former news editor Mehmet Akif Ersoy. Additionally, journalist Cem Küçük had previously raised allegations regarding Torlak’s financial activities and his role in preparing negative reports on various individuals.
In his statement, Şık characterized Torlak as an individual involved in manipulation and accused him of acting as a proxy for certain figures within the ruling party to protect interests. While the dismissal has been asserted by Şık, official confirmation regarding the specific reasons for the removal has not been provided in the reports.
