Furniture industry workers in Arapongas secure 6.2% wage increase

Furniture industry workers in Arapongas and five other municipalities have secured a 6.2% increase in their minimum wage. This agreement, part of the 2026/2027 Collective Labor Convention, was signed between the Sindicato das Indústrias de Móveis (Sima) and the Sindicato dos Trabalhadores (Sticma).

For professionals with more than six months of registration, the minimum wage rises from R$ 2,173.27 to R$ 2,308.01. New hires will have a national entry-level floor set at R$ 1,968.57. Employees earning up to R$ 8,000 will receive a 5.5% increase, while those earning above R$ 8,000.01 will negotiate raises directly with their employers.

Specific roles have also been adjusted: assistants will receive the main floor of R$ 2,308.01, officials a minimum of R$ 2,639.47, and management positions are set at R$ 3,757.00. Sticma president Carlos Roberto da Cunha noted that while initial demands were closer to 19%, inflationary pressures limited the final negotiations.
