Furniture markets adapt to urban living trends in Taiwan and New Zealand
In Taiwan, Italian furniture brand NATUZZI has partnered with Taichung-based Jingchen Construction to integrate high-end furniture into residential planning. Through the ‘Jingchen Life Show’ project, Italian-made sofas are included in housing configurations, allowing buyers to select furniture that matches their specific floor plans and lifestyle needs during the purchasing process.
Meanwhile, in New Zealand, the furniture retailing sector is seeing a shift toward space-saving solutions. As urban living spaces in areas like Auckland become denser, there is growing demand for wall-mounted storage, modular systems, and bespoke media joinery. This trend reflects a consumer preference for durable, functional pieces that maximize vertical space in smaller apartments and townhouses.
