Furniture restoration links circular economy with social integration

The concept of the circular economy is expanding beyond material waste reduction to include social impact and personal transformation. Through occupational workshops, the circularity of materials is being used as a tool for social integration and personal development.

Since 2023, Kave Home has collaborated with the Asociación Reto a la Esperanza, an organization with over 40 years of experience in social integration, to provide opportunities for individuals to gain work habits and purpose through restorative crafts.

In Buenos Aires, the Mercado de Pulgas serves as a hub for this type of craftsmanship. Abel Ramos, a restorer with 29 years of experience at the market, specializes in recovering antique furniture, wood, and objects from demolitions and auctions. His work focuses on preserving the history of pieces, such as bar furniture and classic Buenos Aires cafe chairs, while adapting them for modern use.
