Fury-Joshua heavyweight showdown likely to be held in UK or US

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn says the long‑awaited heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is being slated for mid‑November, with the United Kingdom and the United States the two venues under active discussion. The final decision is expected to rest with Saudi sports chief Turki Al‑Alshikh, who has been instrumental in arranging the fight.

Before the headline bout, Joshua must face Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 25 July, while Fury has announced a warm‑up fight in Dublin on 1 August. Fury, who lost his world titles to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, most recently beat Arslanbek Makhmudov on points in April. Joshua is coming off a sixth‑round knockout of Jake Paul in December after a loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024. Wembley Stadium in London remains a sentimental favourite for the UK option, while the prospect of a US venue has surprised many boxing observers.
