Futaleufú International Pass receives new potable water source
The Government of Chubut has initiated excavation work to establish a new source of potable water at the Futaleufú International Pass. This project aims to resolve a long-standing issue that has persisted for approximately 40 years, during which the border crossing relied on a precarious natural spring.
The initiative is a collaborative effort involving several provincial and national entities, including the Ministry of Tourism and Protected Areas, Los Alerces National Park, the Provincial Water Institute (IPA), the Agency for Tax Collection and Customs Control (ARCA), and the National Gendarmerie.
By improving the water supply, the project seeks to enhance operational conditions for the border crossing and provide better working environments for the personnel stationed at the site. The work is part of a broader strategy to strengthen infrastructure and service quality at international border crossings within the region.
