Futsal teammates shave heads to support boy undergoing lymphoma treatment

A futsal team in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, gained widespread attention after members shaved their heads to support 10-year-old teammate Lucas Coelho. Lucas is currently undergoing treatment for Burkitt lymphoma at the Hospital Pequeno Príncipe in Curitiba.

To surprise the boy, the teammates participated in a group video call while sporting shaved heads. The gesture reportedly encouraged Lucas to also cut his hair, helping him feel a sense of solidarity with his team. His mother, Francielle Lauxen Coelho, noted that the boy has completed his first cycle of chemotherapy and is managing expected side effects such as fatigue and nausea.
