Futu Holdings reports strong quarterly earnings and record trading volume

Futu Holdings reported strong second quarter financial results, exceeding analyst expectations. The company posted earnings per share of $3.33, surpassing the consensus estimate of $2.98. Quarterly revenue reached $852.66 million, higher than the estimated $786.07 million.

Key performance metrics showed significant year-over-year growth. Total revenues rose 35.6% to HK$7,200.2 million, while net income increased 41.6% to HK$3,641.9 million. Total trading volume experienced a 78.8% jump to HK$6.42 trillion, driven largely by HK$5.02 trillion in U.S. stock trading.

The company's user base and assets also expanded, with funded accounts growing 33.6% to 3.84 million and total client assets increasing 43.6% to HK$1.40 trillion. During the period, Futu repurchased approximately 3.8 million ADSs for US$418 million as part of its share buyback program.
