Futu launches Korean stock trading platform for Hong Kong investors
Futu Securities International (Hong Kong) introduced a service that lets Hong Kong investors trade more than 2,700 listed equities on South Korea’s KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets. The rollout includes pre‑market auction trading and allows orders to be placed using existing US‑dollar balances without first converting to Korean won. Advanced order types such as trailing stop‑losses and AI‑powered analytical tools are also offered.
The launch follows the South Korean Financial Services Commission’s Omnibus Account Guidelines issued in November 2025, which enable overseas brokers to provide compliant access to Korean equities without requiring investors to open local accounts. A sister brand, Moomoo, has simultaneously brought the same service to Singapore. Daniel Tse, Managing Director of Futu Securities, said the new offering is another milestone in the company’s product internationalisation, expanding the range of markets available on its platform to include Hong Kong, US, Singapore, Malaysia, mainland China, Japan and Korea.
