Italian sports clubs advance preseason preparations and roster updates
Various Italian sports clubs are conducting preseason preparations and roster adjustments ahead of the 2026/27 season. In football, Fiorentina has signed young defender Mattia Barbone to his first professional contract through June 2029.
Volleyball teams are also active: Vibrotek Volley has added Giulio Colasanti and Leonardo Alessi to their roster, while Brescia has signed Mattia Cavani. Igor Volley Novara recently held a scrimmage against Bergamo, and Millenium Brescia conducted a joint training session with Futura Giovani. Nuvolí AltaFratte Padova also held its first seasonal training session.
In basketball, several preseason tests have taken place. Reyer Venezia defeated Scaligera Verona 95-83, while Reale Mutua Torino secured a 92-88 win against Sella Cento. Orlandina Basket faced Fortitudo Agrigento in a competitive match, and Flavio Basket Pozzuoli won their preseason opener against Virtus Monte di Procida. Additionally, Orlandina Basket played a second test against Agrigento, resulting in a 79-62 loss.
Other regional sports news includes Monticelli Calcio and Centro Volley Reggiano participating in training camps in Castelnovo Monti, and Duelle Futsal Cetraro competing in a preseason match against Sporting Sala Consilina.
