Future Farming executives detained in 2 billion CZK Ponzi scheme investigation

Two executives associated with the Future Farming and GFF groups have been placed in custody following allegations of an investment fraud totaling approximately 2 billion CZK. The National Center for Combating Organized Crime (NCOZ) suspects the individuals operated a Ponzi scheme involving roughly 70 interconnected companies.

Investigators state that the funds raised through bond issuances, which were ostensibly intended for aquaponics farming projects, were instead used to finance company operations, personal expenses, and to pay off earlier investors. Authorities noted that the promised agricultural developments largely existed only on paper, with minimal physical assets remaining.

Approximately 5,000 investors have been affected by the scheme. Due to the high number of victims, a common legal representative will be appointed to manage their interests and claims for damages during the criminal proceedings. The suspects face up to ten years in prison, and prosecutors aim to bring an indictment within one year of their detention.
