Roberto Vannacci lifts Futuro Nazionale with ex‑Lega and Forza Italia MPs

Roberto Vannacci, former Folgore general and leader of the Futuro Nazionale movement, announced on 6 June that five parliamentarians have joined the party: deputies Domenico Furgiuele, Gianangelo Bof, Attilio Pierro and Davide Bergamini, plus former euro‑deputy Antonio Maria Rinaldi. Two of the newcomers left Forza Italia and two left Matteo Salvini’s Lega, reducing the Forza Italia group in the Chamber from 54 to 52 seats.

Marina Berlusconi, daughter of Silvio Berlusconi, said she is not worried about the defections and stressed her focus on the future of the party founded by her father. The departures have been framed as a normal reshuffling within the centre‑right alliance, with Forza Italia emphasizing its goal of defeating the left.

Separately, deputy Domenico Furgiuele publicly announced his exit from Lega after twelve years, citing a loss of alignment with the party’s current direction and his decision to join Futuro Nazionale, a move he described as a return to his political principles.
