Carmelo Burgio named Milan mayoral candidate by Futuro Nazionale

Roberto Vannacci, leader of the Futuro Nazionale (FN) movement, has officially announced retired Carabinieri General Carmelo Burgio as the party's candidate for the 2027 Milan mayoral elections. The announcement, made from the Versiliana stage, emphasizes security and law enforcement as the core pillars of the campaign.

Burgio, a former paratrooper with extensive experience in elite units such as the GIS and the Tuscania regiment, previously held command positions in Trapani and Caserta, where he worked against organized crime. His military background includes international missions in Lebanon, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Vannacci highlighted Burgio's expertise, stating he would know how to address security issues in areas like Rogoredo without external guidance.

As Futuro Nazionale continues to expand its territorial presence, the party is also appointing new regional coordinators across Italy, including in Bitonto and Rieti. Vannacci has expressed a willingness to engage in political dialogue with the center-right, provided that the party's core principles regarding sovereignty and national identity are respected.
