Italy centre-right coalition slips while Futuro Nazionale gains in polls

Recent Italian polling shows the governing centre‑right coalition losing ground, with the Lega falling to 6.7% and Forza Italia at 8.2%. The movement Futuro Nazionale, led by Roberto Vannacci, rose by 0.7 points to 4.3% and could become decisive for the coalition’s future.

Fratelli d’Italia remains stable at 28.2%, keeping its lead over the Democratic Party (PD), which dropped to 21.8% as the Five Star Movement (M5S) climbed back to 13%. The broader “progressive” bloc now holds a slight edge (45.1%) over the government coalition (44.1%).

Analysts note a new alliance between Matteo Salvini and regional president Luca Zaia aimed at revitalising the Lega, while the PD experiences internal shifts after the departure of Pina Picierno. The political landscape continues to re‑align as parties vie for voters disenchanted with traditional options.
