Roberto Vannacci's Futuro Nazionale Gains Poll Support, Boosts Centre-Right Prospects

The newly founded party Futuro Nazionale, led by former general Roberto Vannacci, is climbing in Italian opinion polls despite not yet having an official program. An assembly to draft the programme is scheduled for this weekend in Rome.

A SWG poll for Tg La7 shows that a centre‑right coalition that includes Futuro Nazionale would reach 47.1% of the vote, compared with 42.6% if the party runs alone. Futuro Nazionale itself would capture about 5.2% of the electorate. The party’s platform emphasizes stricter immigration controls, stronger security measures, and a more sovereign stance toward the European Union. Its potential inclusion is seen as decisive for the centre‑right’s ability to surpass the 42% threshold needed for the majority‑bonus electoral law being debated in Parliament.
