Futuro Nazionale secures four new deputies in Italy

Futuro Nazionale, the parliamentary group led by Roberto Vannacci, is set to announce the accession of four deputies on Saturday, June 6, in Viareggio. The incoming members are Domenico Furgiuele, a Lega representative from Calabria, Gianangelo Bof from Veneto, and former Forza Italia deputies Davide Bergamini and Attilio Pierro. Their entry would double Vannacci’s contingent in the mixed group and increase its influence in the Chamber of Deputies.

The recruitment aims to solidify the Vannacci faction within the centre‑right coalition. A fifth candidate, former Lega MP Erik Pretto, is still being courted for a possible move to Forza Italia, but his status remains unresolved. The maneuver follows internal tensions in the Lega party and a planned party retreat later in the month.

The announcement is expected to bolster Futuro Nazionale’s parliamentary weight ahead of its constitutive assembly scheduled for mid‑June in Rome.
