FuVeX secures €3 million to expand drone inspections of Spain’s grid

Spanish drone specialist FuVeX closed an oversubscribed €3 million financing round. Investors included Sodena, the public investment arm of the Navarre government, SEGO Venture, Izertis Ventures and several family offices linked to industry, agriculture and innovation. The round is complemented by a €400,000 public grant from the Centre for the Development of Technological Innovation (CDTI) for a defence‑related R&D project.

The funding will accelerate FuVeX’s commercial growth and its aim to inspect 70 % of Spain’s electricity distribution network by 2027. The company’s long‑range drones have already covered more than 36,000 km of power lines under contracts with Endesa and UFD (Naturgy’s distributor). Data from the flights are processed with artificial‑intelligence tools to detect anomalies, while the firm holds advanced BVLOS authorisations for flights beyond 10 km.
