FUZE Caribbean Art Fair promotes Bahamian art internationally

The fourth edition of the FUZE Caribbean Art Fair, held from October 21–25 at Baha Mar in Nassau, showcased the growing international presence of Bahamian and Caribbean contemporary art. Featuring more than 120 artists and exhibitors from approximately 20 countries, the event aimed to transition Bahamian art from a national cultural achievement into a global creative industry.

Led by Bahamian artist and administrator John Cox, the fair serves as a platform connecting regional artists, galleries, and collectors with the broader international art world. The event comes at a time when Caribbean artists are gaining increased visibility in major global institutions, such as the Venice Biennale and the Armory Show, moving beyond traditional tropical stereotypes to explore complex themes of identity and creolization.
