Fyffes launches regenerative agriculture roadmap for tropical fruit production

Fyffes, a leading global tropical fruit company, has launched a new Regenerative Agriculture Framework aimed at enhancing the sustainability and resilience of banana and pineapple production. The company intends to integrate regenerative practices across 13,000 hectares of its own farms by 2030.

Looking further ahead, Fyffes aims to extend these practices throughout its supply chain, targeting approximately 40% of fruit volume from key supplier operations to be produced under this framework by 2035. The science-based, producer-centric model focuses on five key impact areas: improving soil health, fostering biodiversity, optimizing water management, reducing reliance on agrochemicals, and addressing climate change effects.

To ensure transparency, progress will be monitored through a Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system. Developed in collaboration with agricultural experts and producers, the roadmap provides practical tools designed to protect fruit quality and productivity while improving environmental performance.
