G-Dragon documentary in production for Disney+

Production has begun on a documentary about K-pop icon G-Dragon for Disney+. The project is expected to trace his career as a solo artist, his influence on the K-pop genre, and his role as the leader of the group Big Bang.

Industry sources indicate that production teams began contacting associates of the artist in July. While an official release date has not been confirmed, the documentary's launch may be timed to follow the conclusion of Big Bang’s 20th-anniversary world tour, “XX: Cosmos.” The tour, which includes 33 concerts across 19 cities, is currently scheduled to end in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in February.

Disney+ Korea has stated it has “no official statement to provide at this time” regarding the project. This potential documentary follows a previous collaboration between Disney and G-Dragon’s fashion label, Peaceminusone, which involved a licensing agreement for a “Toy Story” themed initiative.
