G-Eazy signs independent deal with EZMNY Records and EMPIRE
Bay Area rapper G-Eazy has announced a new independent partnership with Ty Dolla $ign’s EZMNY Records and the label and distributor EMPIRE. This move marks the artist's first departure from the major label system in over a decade, following his tenure with RCA Records.
G-Eazy stated that the partnership is intended to prioritize creativity and music by working alongside friends and regional collaborators. He noted that the decision aims to bring his business back to the West Coast, aligning with his mission of moving ‘from the Bay to the universe.’
EZMNY Records founders Ty Dolla $ign and Shawn Barron expressed support for the signing, noting that the label was established with an ‘artist-first mentality’ to push boundaries in artistry.
