G Kaito Aye urges Naga youth to preserve culture and unity
Minister for Roads and Bridges, G Kaito Aye, has called on Naga youth to prioritize the preservation of their cultural identity and the strengthening of communal unity. Speaking at a Cultural Fiesta in Kohima organized by the Angami Students’ Union and various tribal subordinate student bodies, Aye emphasized that culture serves as the core of Naga identity.
Addressing the ongoing Naga political issue, the Minister noted that while the eventual resolution remains uncertain, the people must prepare to coexist peacefully and focus on improving their collective living conditions. He urged the younger generation to work within existing legal frameworks to address governance and development shortcomings, suggesting that students should identify areas where the government is failing and bring them to official attention.
Furthermore, Aye highlighted academic excellence as a vital tool for young people, encouraging them to become active contributors to society and to use cultural exchange to promote mutual understanding across different tribes.
