G2 Esports releases VALORANT in-game leader valyn

G2 Esports has officially released Jacob “valyn” Batio from its VALORANT roster. As the team’s in-game leader and a controller player, valyn was responsible for setting strategy, making round calls, and managing the team's pace.

Valyn joined G2 following the 2023 VCT Ascension Americas victory with The Guard. During his tenure with G2, he led the team to significant international success, including a third-place finish at Masters Shanghai 2024 and a second-place finish at Masters Bangkok 2025. Under his leadership, the roster secured four domestic titles and maintained a consistent presence in top-tier international competitions.

In a video statement, valyn expressed gratitude for his time with the team, stating, “All good things come to an end, and honestly, the last three, four years with these guys have been amazing.” He noted that while he is saddened they did not reach the highest level of success together, he is excited about his future and plans to reignite his career. G2 Esports has not yet named a replacement or a new shotcaller.
