GA-20 and Charlie Musselwhite Release Blues Album “Blues Now”

Boston blues trio GA-20 teamed up with 82‑year‑old harmonica legend Charlie Musselwhite to issue the ten‑track album Blues Now. The record was produced by GA‑20 guitarist Matthew Stubbs and recorded at Rare Signals in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It draws on classic Chicago‑blues repertoire, covering songs linked to Willie Dixon, Elmore James, Junior Wells and Eddie Taylor, and closes with a rendition of Donald Byrd’s jazz piece “Cristo Redentor”.

GA‑20 – Matthew Stubbs (guitar), Cody Nilsen (guitar, vocals), Josh Kiggans (drums) – is joined by bassist Marty Ballou on five tracks. The release, issued by New West Records and available as signed colored vinyl, aims to keep the blues alive with raw, un‑digitally‑processed performances.
