GA-ASI completes flight test of ESM system on Gray Eagle UAS
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) has successfully completed flight testing of the SNC Electronic Support Measures (ESM) system on the MQ-1C Gray Eagle Extended Range (ER) Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS).
The ESM is a small form-factor detection and collection system designed to provide long-range sensing. This capability allows the Gray Eagle to detect and target hostile Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS) from outside Weapon Engagement Zones (WEZ), increasing mission assurance for U.S. forces.
The integration of this modular system aims to enhance survivability for crewed Army aircraft through advanced Crewed-Uncrewed Teaming and provides ground commanders with critical information regarding adversary air defense operations.
