Ga Mantse unveils nominees for Sacred Crown Awards 2026

The Sacred Crown Awards 2026, launched by His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse and President of the Ga Traditional Council, has released its full list of nominees. The ceremony aims to celebrate African excellence, preserve the continent’s heritage and honour individuals and institutions shaping communities across Africa and beyond.

Key categories include African Music Artiste of the Year, with nominees such as Burna Boy, Davido, Rema, Asake, Black Sherif, Diamond Platnumz, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale. The Global African Ambassador Award features internationally recognised figures including Idris Elba, Rocky Dawuni, Lupita Nyong’o, Dentaa Amoateng MBE, Wode Maya and Fuse ODG. Christian Ministry Leader of the Year lists Archbishop Nicholas Duncan‑Williams, Dr Mensa Otabil, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare and other senior clergy.

The Humanitarian Impact Award nominees include former First Lady Rebecca Akufo‑Addo, Dr Osei Kwame Despite, Dr Samuel Amo Tobbin, Ibrahim Mahama, Dr Kwaku Oteng, Samira Bawumia and Nana Prof Oheneba Boachie‑Adjei Woahene II. Additional honours recognise cultural icons such as Agya Koo Nimo, Pat Thomas and Grace Omaboe, and traditional leaders like the Nayiri and Togbe Afede XIV.
