Gabby George signs for Brighton from Manchester United Women

England defender Gabby George has completed a move from Manchester United Women to Brighton & Hove Albion Women. The transfer, reported as a six‑figure fee, gives George the chance for more regular playing time after making 54 appearances for United and helping the club win the 2024 FA Cup and qualify for the Champions League.

George, a product of Everton’s academy who logged over 150 games for the Merseyside side, joins a Brighton squad that finished seventh in the Women’s Super League last season. Manager Dario Vidosic said her versatility, technical quality and leadership will strengthen the team ahead of the new campaign, which opens at home against Arsenal on 6 September.

The transfer comes amid a period of change at United, with head coach Marc Skinner departing and several other players – Melvine Malard, Millie Turner and Lisa Naalsund – also leaving the club.
