Rome's ATAC launches 'Tra sport e trasporto' photo exhibit

Rome’s public‑transport operator ATAC, in partnership with sport photographer Ferdinando Mezzelani, opened the exhibition “Tra sport e trasporto”. The showcase features iconic moments of Italian sport history – the 2006 World Cup win, Jannik Sinner’s tennis title, athletics, equestrian and Paralympic events – displayed on digital screens that loop in the atrium of the Metro Spagna station. IGP Decaux provides the maxi‑LED and LCD installations that create an immersive visual experience for commuters.

The exhibit will travel along the entire Metro A line, with a dedicated train fitted with reproductions of Mezzelani’s photos, and will run until October 2026. ATAC president Barbara Marinali and Sport e Salute CEO Diego Nepi Molineris emphasised that the project links the values of sport and community to urban mobility, describing it as “a moment of art that emotionally transports the viewer.”
