Gabicce water tariff dispute: Petrucci refutes claims of price hikes
In the Pesaro Urbino province, political tensions have risen regarding the implementation of a unified water tariff. Petrucci has dismissed claims by Pascuzzi, a member of the Aspes board and former mayor of Gabicce, that the new tariff would cause automatic price hikes of 20% for domestic users and 70% for commercial activities.
Petrucci asserts that aligning with provincial rates will actually benefit most domestic users and the local economy. According to the statement, any potential price adjustments would likely only affect owners of second homes, properties with private pools, and high-volume water consumers like large supermarket chains, rather than local neighborhood shops.
Furthermore, Petrucci addressed discrepancies in water production costs, citing official data sent to ARERA which shows the cost of water from the Ridracoli reservoir at 0.44 euro/mc, compared to 0.41 euro/mc for water sold by Marche Multiservizi in Fano.
